Historic Road Tour Visits Seattle Today with “Century of Values” Exhibit


Kicks-off Boy Scouts 100th Birthday Year with Drive to “Serve Others”


SEATTLE, (Monday, Oct. 5, 2009)  -  In anticipation of their 100th birthday, a traveling exhibit documenting the Boy Scouts of America “Century of Values,” will be in Seattle for one day only on Monday, October 5th at Seward Park.  A team of Scouting volunteers from Michigan, in the midst of traversing the country by driving nearly 45,000 miles in a specially decorated RV, will present a commemorative mural to the local Chief Seattle Council at Seward Park at 4:30 p.m. in front of the Audubon Environmental Learning Center.     more...

Local and longtime Boy Scouts of America celebrate a century


The Boy Scouts of America organization is celebrating its 100th birthday. Today there are about 40,000 Boy Scouts and leaders in the Seattle area and the number is growing.

Before reciting an oath to become troop officers during the Court of Honor award ceremony, members of Boy Scout Troop 166 grab hold of their troop flag.  Boy Scouts celebrate 100th birthday.  The Seattle Boy Scouts organization wants to do 100 service projects this year to celebrate their 100th birthday.
